Residents of Dedza district have applauded National Registration Bureau (NRB) for coming up with the identity verification process which has assisted multitudes in the area, The exercise aims at verifying the identity of citizens who have registered for NRB before but have lost or damaged their identity card, so that they can register for voting.

Christopher Vincent, a resident of Magunditsa village which is twelve kilometers away from Dedza Boma Testifies on how the identity verification process is helping for one to be identified as the citizen of this country.”The process is good because, I did not even spend much of the time standing on a que for NRB personals to give me the sticker, a clear indication that, am really in their data base|”

“As a border district, the verification process is not giving room for other people who are coming from the neighbouring country to venture into the country for them to register illegally” Vincent said.

However, Vincent has advised people living in Dedza and across the country to go and register to National Registration Bearue offices for them to exercise their rights. 

In his remarks, Angelinah Chimkwenje, a mother of two, echoed on how important the verification process in the area of Group village Manondo in the district. 

“With the coming in of the verification has helped because, people from other countries can be easily traced that they not citizens Malawi” Chimkwenje added.

Commenting on the development, one of the social commentators in the county Ceazar Kondowe, has also welcomed the development by stating that, phase one of verification in a number of districts across the country has been good.
